US Open Selects Dr. Peter Callander as Orthopedist
Dr. Peter Callander has been selected as one of the supporting orthopedist for the upcoming 2012 U.S. Open. The 2012 U.S. Open Golf Championship will be played at the historic Olympic Club, located in San Francisco, California. The Championship will be held June 14-17, 2012 at the Lake Course.
The Lake Course has been recognized by Golf Magazine in its list of the Top 100 Courses in the U.S. It has also been recognized in Golf Week's category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses." It is of paramount importance that the professional golfers competing for this prestigious award be supported by the best orthopedic doctors in the Bay Area. Golf is considered a high-velocity game where a solid golf swing can generate club head speeds of over 120mph. With this sort of force, even the slightest inconsistency in swing technique can result in injury.
Dr. Callander specializes in hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive surgery, joint reconstruction, and revision hip and knee replacements. It is easy to see why the US Open turned to Dr. Callander for support when the Lake Course again has its say about who is the best golfer in the country.
